Highway Commissioner Nick Distler was elected to office April 4, 2017.
Our Highway Commissioner and our Road Crew work hard and do an excellent job of keeping our roads and bridges in good order. Not only do they keep up with the “routine” road and bridge maintenance, they are pro-active in monitoring the 83 miles of our township’s roads, responding promptly to problems.
After severe weather comes through our township, our road crew is out moving trees off the roads, repairing culverts and wash-outs, dealing with erosion problems, and making sure our roads are safe for our citizens. In the winter they are out promptly plowing snow and applying salt and sand as needed.
Highway Commissioner Distler pro-actively monitors weather conditions. His diligence will save our Township thousands of dollars in salt and sand usage.
